Moonstruck is a wild concert series. We present music and art off the beaten path in Berkeley. All these concerts take place deep in local parklands, and explore what it means to call the Bay Area home.
The locations are a secret, but you’ll be emailed a rendezvous location the week of the concert. A map-giver will meet you at the rendezvous around 6pm on Sunday May 15th, and you'll receive an artist-made map that will guide you to the final location.
This concert is timed to coincide with a *total lunar eclipse*. A shadowy, red moon will rise during the performances. There is not much moonlight during a lunar eclipse, so bring a flashlight or well-charged phone to help shine your way home.
The May event reuses and improves upon elements of our April 2022 event. The concert will take place on the Berkeley shoreline, accessible by a 1.5 mile walk along trails. Two local acts will debut new works exploring their relationship to the Bay Area: acclaimed local duo The Singer and the Songwriter, and rising Oakland ensemble Kah Liberation. Composer Jaren Feeley will be doing a second performance of a site-specific work for eight musicians, which originally debuted at the April Moonstruck.
